Question of the Day

I love facebook. I hate facebook. I'll admit I check it 5 million times a day. I really love reconnecting with old friends. There are people who I haven't seen in 10 years who find me and instantly we are connected again like no time has passed. And I got to admit it's an ego boost too. I wouldn't have gone on my trip to Seychelles if it weren't for facebook.

So here's the dilemma...

Old friend, let's call him "Basketball", finds me on facebook. We send a email or two back and forth and IM each other yesterday for an hour or so. He sent me a message today that he is passing through town next week and wondered if I want to grab lunch.

Background information: BB had a crush on me in college and tried to get me to dump jerky boyfriend so I would go out with him. He was a very sweet guy so don't think badly of him. He would stop by my house often, would walk with me to class and also invited me to his fraternity for parties and what not. Skip to present day...He is long-time married and two kids. I am single and not connected to anyone.

Is this a good idea? I see no harm but I don't need to open the door to anything weird. (I do have one old boyfriend that I do occasionally see and it's fine.) But I don't know...what do you peeps think?

Dinner is dinner & just that...no biggie, but even though he's long-time married, after your info on his college crush on you, I think there's a small alterior motive here... Be careful, but have fun! :D

I think my names are perfect. If I use something weird I'll forget.

good advice!

Do it. See what happens. Maybe its nothing weird and he just wants to be your friend.

On the other hand...he might want to get in your pants...so drive your own car and drink minimally.

My advice is simple. Put yourself in the place of the wife. How would you feel if your husband was trying to reconnect with someone he was interested in in the past? Then act accordingly.

I'm with tjsode. I've done some things in the past similar to this and looking back, should not have gone there.
