West End Salvage has got to be one of my favorite places to go in Des Moines. It's like most architectural salvage places but Don Short, the owner also designs furniture pieces too. So there's a mix of old and "new" in the shop. Every time I have been here I end up talking to whoever is working forever! The also have a little coffee shop where you could just hang out and read a book if you wanted. Love this place.
